Abstract of Judgement
This is the written summary of a judgment in a lawsuit. It includes such information as who won the lawsuit, who lost it, the court that handled it, etc. The summary is stamped and recorded by the county in which the judgment took place.
With regard to foreclosures, the legal judgment will often result in a lien placed on the debtor's property. If, for example, somebody defaults on their mortgage and the lender forecloses on the property, an abstract of judgment will summarize this legal action.
